It's a rough day to be flying. Lightning struck two Southwest jetliners Wednesday as they were on approach to Bob Hope Airport in Burbank. Both planes landed safely and there was only one minor injury, authorities said.

Flight 1475 from Oakland landed safely at 9:38 a.m., with 81 passengers aboard; flight 1580 from Sacramento landed safely at 9:57 a.m. with 69 aboard, said Marilee McInnis of Southwest Airlines.

A flight attendant who was on the Oakland flight complained of pain to her arm and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The planes were taken out of service for inspection, but there was no visible damage to either aircraft, McInnis said.
