Local 9/11 Remembrances

Memorial ceremonies take place around Southern California today, in remembrance of the people killed in the 9/11 attacks.

12:00pm – 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony
Irvine Valley College will hold a ceremony from 12:00-12:30pm at the IVC Performing Arts Center. Guest speakers include Police Chief David Maggard, Jr. and Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens. The public is welcome to attend the event. Irvine Valley College is located at 5500 Irvine Center Drive.

Simi Valley
4:15pm – Ronald Reagan Presidential Library
The 4th annual Simi Valley Freedom Walk, to remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks, will begin at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library courtyard and end at the Rancho Madera Community Park.  The 1st Marine Division Band will perform patriotic music and there will be an F-18 flyover.  A free shuttle service will return participants to the library.

Pepperdine University
Pepperdine University will display nearly 3,000 flags on campus, one for each person who died in the terrorist attacks.  The flags will remain on display for one week.
