Lone Survivor of Palmdale Shooting That Killed 3 Was Shot in Face

Investigators say the lone survivor of a shooting that left three men dead in the Southern California desert told a 911 dispatcher he'd been shot in the face.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Derrick Alfred says paramedics used the man's cellphone to locate the victims on the outskirts of the high desert city of Palmdale.

The shooting occurred after 11 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies found three men dead in two cars in a remote area. The fourth was taken to a hospital. He's expected to survive.

The Los Angeles Times reported Saturday that the coroner's office says the men killed were in their 20s and all from the Los Angeles area.

There is no suspect description. Alfred says detectives suspect a semiautomatic rifle may have been used. Investigators are still collecting evidence.
