Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies Featured on “School Pride”

The Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies will be the subject of tonight's episode of NBC's "School Pride," detailing how more than 1,500 volunteers worked over the July 4 weekend to renovate the Mid-City school.

The episode, which airs from 8-9 p.m., depicts the makeover of the school's auditorium, music and art rooms, which had fallen into disrepair because of budget problems.

The episode culminates with a musical performance in the renovated auditorium.

The school, popularly known as LACES, was one of first schools to contact the show's producers via the social networking website Facebook. It was also able to arrange to have its videotape seeking to be included on the series hand-delivered to the show's office.

The episode is expected to be the series finale. It is dedicated to executive producer Denise Cramsey, who died Tuesday from a brain aneurysm at the age of 41.
