Los Angeles Dodgers Trade Prospect to Seattle Mariners

The Los Angeles Dodgers traded prospect Adam Law to the Seattle Mariners for cash considerations on Saturday.

The Dodgers made another trade on Saturday, but this one won't rattle the Richter scale.

News out of the Dodgers' minor league organization has the team's Double-A affiliate, the Tulsa Drillers traded outfielder/third baseman Adam Law to the Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners organization.

Law announced the news on his Twitter and Instagram accounts, saying:

“Baseball is a crazy business and things can instantly change. I received a phone call yesterday informing me that I was traded to the Seattle #Mariners. I am thankful for the opportunity the Los Angeles #Dodgers gave me to begin my professional career. These past four years have been some of the best of my life with countless memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. With that being said, I look forward to my future as a Mariner and am so stoked to get things rollin!”

Law hit .276 with a .356 on-base percentage in 30 games with the Drillers. The Drillers have been contending all season for a north division title in the Texas League.

Meanwhile, the Generals secured a playoff spot in the Southern League by winning the first half division title with a 46-24 record.

Law’s last game played was in June 22 against the Springfield Cardinals, where he got a hit and scored a run as a pinch hitter. A team filled with talent and top prospects in the infield and outfield made it hard for Law to find suitable playing time. The Drillers had a total of nine players selected into the 2016 Texas League All-Star Game.

Law was drafted in the 13th round of the 2013 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodger and named MiLB Organization All-Star that same year. Law batted .343 with a .405 on-base percentage in rookie ball for the Dodgers of the Arizona League and the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League.

Law is from Provo, UT and played college ball at Brigham Young University. More known as a slap hitter, Law has yet to hit a home run in his four years as a minor leaguer.

It's unknown what the Dodgers received in return for compensation, but it's reported that the organization received cash considerations from the Mariners in return for Law.
