Starting Labor Day, you'll need more quarters to buy the Los Angeles Times.
The price of a daily print edition will increase from 75 cents to $1, while the Sunday issue will go up from $1.50 to $2.00. The price of the weekend edition will remain at $1.50.
The newspaper, which is owned by Tribune Co., bumped its daily price two years ago from 50 cents to 75 cents.
The paper, much like its counterparts in the industry, has been battered by the economic downturn and the move by consumers to read articles for free online.
The paper has gone through a series of layoffs and seen its circulation erode in recent years.
Spokeswoman Nancy Sullivan said the rate hike is in line with the paper's competitors.
