Los Angeles Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes will miss the rest of the regular season due to a foot injury, the team announced Monday.
Zardes suffered the injury to his right foot in the Galaxy's scoreless draw Saturday against Vancouver.
The 24-year-old Hawthorne native has 19 MLS appearances this season. He has six goals and five assists, leaving the Galaxy with a major hole to fill.
Zardes was expected to undergo surgery on Wednesday. He has not been ruled out for postseason play.
Los Angeles plays Saturday against the Columbus Crew at StubHub Center.
