Magnitude 3.0 Earthquake Shakes San Bernardino

A magnitude 3.0 earthquake shook San Bernardino early Tuesday.

It hit 12.4 miles north of Yucca Valley at a depth of 2.5 miles at 1:49 am, the USGS said. Other nearby areas included Big Bear City and Desert Hot Springs.

A 3.0 quake is considered a minor tremble on the Richter Scale, is only felt slightly by some people, and causes no damage to buildings.
