Mammoth's Season Wraps on Father's Day

Get your spring schussing in on or before Father's Day 2018.

WHAT DO THESE THREE PLACES, all gorgeous and wondrous nature-rich locations, have in common? Timberline Lodge, in the northern part of Oregon; Beartooth Basin in Wyoming; and Mammoth Mountain, right here in California's sublime Sierra Nevada? That's right: They're the last remaining U.S. ski destinations still hosting skiers and board buffs for the season, even as summer is on fast approach. So if you're in one of those three places, and you dig spring skiing, and a perfect blue sky, and maybe wearing something a little unwintry as you ride the lift up, up, up, well, cheers to you: Enjoy the snow. And you best enjoy that snow soon, at Mammoth Mountain, for the peak-tastic destination is just days away from its bittersweet adieu. That's an adieu for the 2017-2018 season, of course, and while it wasn't quite as long as last year's epic run, it did push into deepest June.

FATHER'S DAY 2018... is the final date to ride, and recent photographs from the mountain prove that conditions are still pretty darn rad. That's Sunday, June 17, as you surely know, and you surely know that Mammoth is famous for its combo deals when holidays roll around. And there will be a deal on, involving both skiing and biking, and it is "Available Through the End of the Ski Season." Pay $99, ski in the first part of the day, then hit Mammoth Bike Park later on. Oh, and score a cool 25% off ski rentals, snowboard rentals, and, yes, your mountain bike rental for the day. Details for you and Dad? Be in the gnarliest know now.
