Man Arrested for Allegedly Walking Into Home, Touching Sleeping Woman

A 28-year-old man was behind bars Monday on suspicion of walking into a Seal Beach home and touching a woman sleeping on her couch.

Richard Michael Parkhurst of Norwalk was booked Sunday on suspicion of residential burglary and sexual battery, according to Seal Beach police Sgt. Michael Henderson.

Parkhurst was arrested shortly after the incident in the 300 block of 7th Street, Henderson said.

The woman told police she was sleeping on her couch when a suspect got into her unlocked home and touched her, Henderson said. When she yelled at the suspect he ran away, Henderson said.

Police suspect there may be more victims and asked anyone with relevant information for investigators to call Det. Samantha Mathias at 562-799-4100, ext. 1108.
