Man Assaulted on Street, Bag Full of Cash and Jewelry Stolen

A man was beaten in Thursday afternoon on a San Fernando Valley street before having a bag containing cash and jewelry wrestled from him.

The victim was assaulted as he left a house on the 4700 block of Lemona Avenue in Sherman Oaks at 6 p.m. Thursday, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said.

He was approached by two men, and was then punched by one of his assailants. They took the bag and threw it in a car, which is described as an import, and the suspects then fled the scene.

The victim, who does not live at the house he was visiting, was left shaken, but not seriously hurt.
