Man Allegedly Attempts to Stab MTA Bus Driver

An MTA bus driver was the victim of an attack Wednesday when a man allegedly attempted to stab him while on the commuter vehicle in La Mirada, according to officials.

The alleged attempted stabbing happened at about 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of La Mirada and Alondra boulevards on the 460 line when the suspect allegedly approached the driver with a knife and tried to take his glasses.

The driver and suspect became involved in an argument, according to officials. The driver, unharmed, stopped the bus and exited.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Norwalk station arrived on scene where they took a male suspect into custody and booked him on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
