Barricade Inside DTLA Apartment Ends With Arrest

Suspect barricaded himself inside his apartment after officers saw him with a gun

A man wanted on a felony warrant barricaded himself inside his apartment in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday morning for nearly seven hours, police said.

The unidentified suspect was seen with a gun, and retreated to his apartment at 7th and Hope streets around 5 a.m.

The man was taken into custody just before 2 p.m., LAPD Officer Precaido said.

His girlfriend was detained for questioning, police said.

Seventh Street was closed between Hope and Flower streets during the standoff. It is not immediately clear what the suspect was wanted for.
