Man Breaks Into Home, Tries to Sexually Assault Woman

A 20-year-old homeless man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a home and tried to sexually assault the mother of a 3-year-old girl while the girl was home, police said.

The attack happened Tuesday morning when the suspect, identified as Gabriel Adrian Emmanuel, opened a bathroom window at a home in the 6300 block of North Olive Street and climbed inside, police said.

He allegedly took off his clothes and tried to sexually assault the woman in her locked bedroom while the woman's daughter cried, authorities said.

The suspect told the woman that if she did not want her child hurt, to go along with it, police said.

The suspect ran out when the victim fought her attacker off, broke a bedroom window and yelled for help, officials said.

He was found later when police searched the area.

He was being held at the San Bernardino County Jail on charges of assault with intent to commit rape, kidnapping with the intent to commit rape, burglary, and false imprisonment.
