A 57-year-old man was convicted of engaging in sexual conduct with a 14-year-old boy he met on Craigslist, prosecutors said Monday.

Mark Aime Brosseau, of Stanton, was found guilty by a jury of charges, including lewd acts upon a child, contacting a child with the intent to commit lewd acts, and meeting a child with the intent to engage in lewd conduct.

He faces up to five years and four months in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration at his sentencing Jan. 24, 2014, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

The case broke on Sept. 25, 2010, when authorities said Brosseau parked his Ford pick-up truck in a parking structure at Bella Terra Mall in Huntington Beach.

Prosecutors said he engaged in sexual conduct with a 14-year-old boy in the vehicle.

He met the victim on Craigslist in June 2010, officials said.

He was arrested when Huntington Beach police saw the suspicious truck.

He was was partially undressed from the waist down, prosecutors said.

Brosseau’s mandatory lifetime sex offender registration will bar him from entering County recreational areas and city parks.
