Man Shot, Killed by LAPD Officers in Van Nuys

An investigation is underway after police shot and killed a man in Van Nuys Saturday night.

The shooting occurred near Victory and Sepulveda boulevards about 11:35 p.m. the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Officers were driving in that area and stopped at a red light when they realized their rear window shatter, LAPD said.

When police exited the car, they encountered a man in his 30s who died after being struck by the officers' gunfire, according to LAPD.

No further details on what led up to the shooting were immediately available.

No officers were injured.
