A man was killed after being struck by a car on the 10 Freeway in El Monte early Thursday.
He died after being hit east of Santa Anita Avenue at around 1:19 a.m, a California Highway Patrol said.
It is unclear if he was a pedestrian walking on the freeway, or if he had been in a collision and was hit after getting out of his vehicle.
A sig alert was issued and all lanes were closed shortly after the crash. The freeway fully reopened at 4:14 a.m.
An investigation is underway to determine what happened. There is no indication that this was a hit and run.
