Authorities were investigating the fatal stabbing of a man found Saturday morning in El Monte.
The stabbing was reported around 2:30 a.m. in the 12200 block of Magnolia Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A person walking by the location discovered the injured man and notified police. When officers arrived, they found the man lying on the sidewalk with apparent stabb wounds to his upper torso, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
The man was pronouced dead at
Homicide detectives are conducting an investigation.
LASD initially said the man had been fatally shot.
