Homicide detectives were investigating the fatal shooting of a man found dead Monday night on a sidewalk in Montebello, police said.
The shooting was reported around 6:30 p.m. near the 1600 block of Neil Armstrong Street. Police officers arrived and found a man fatally wounded laying on the sidewalk, according to the Montebello Police Department.
The shooter had fled before police arrived. Officers set up a perimeter looking for the assailant, according to the Montebello Police Department.
Police said the shooting was intentional, not a random homicide.
