Police Seek Man After Woman Accuses Him of Groping in Viral Facebook Post

"That was the first time I actually felt like I was about to get raped," the woman said.

Police were seeking a man pictured in photos going viral on Facebook after a woman accused him of groping her in a Torrance parking lot Tuesday.

"That was the first time I actually felt like I was about to get raped," Vivian Tran, an Orange County resident, said.

Tran said she was leaving work in Torrance on South Vermont Avenue Friday when a stranger grabbed her from behind, and taunted her as she fought him off.

Tran says she was ready for a fun weekend when she began walking to her car that afternoon, and did not notice a man following close behind her.

"I felt something and I looked, and he was literally right behind me," Tran said.

Before she could even turn around, Tran said the stranger reached for her waist, trying twice to grab her.

"He pressed his body against my back," Tran said. "I pushed him away. I said, 'No, go away.'"

Tran said she managed to get into her car and lock the door. She describes how the man continued to taunt her with a strange message she still doesn't understand.

"He stuck his fingers through the window, taunting me or something like that," Trans aid. "He says, 'It's OK. Six days.'"

Tran says she was shaking so much she could barely hold her phone, but managed to snap photos of the man who allegedly assaulted her. She also snapped photos of his car.

She posted the pictures on Facebook, which have been garnering a strong reaction in the South Bay. The photos have been shared more than 7,500 times.

She reached out to NBC4, saying she wanted to speak out because she feels it could have escalated into something much worse.

"I'm still really shaken up about it. When I close my eyes I can still see his face," Tran said. "I can still feel his touch on me."

LAPD Harbor detectives said they are looking for the man in what they are calling a battery incident. He hasn't been named as a suspect, but rather a person of interest in the incident.
