Robber With Fake Gun Subdued With Pepper Spray

A good Samaritan and store security wrestled him to the floor before he got sprayed

A man tried to rob a store with a fake gun and ended up getting subdued with pepper spray Thursday night in the San Fernando Valley.

He tried to hold up Vallarta Supermarkets on the 9100 block of  Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills at around 10 p.m, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said.

The robber went into the back area only employees are allowed with an imitation pistol BB gun, however a good Samaritan and store security wrestled him to the floor.

When officers arrived they had to use pepper spray to subdue him as he refused to cooperate. 

He was taken into custody and is expected to be charged with attempted robbery.
