Man Identified as “Rodney King” Cited by Police

Rodney King was cited for driving without a license two days before the 20th anniversary of his beating by Los Angeles Police Department officers, the entertainment news website TMZ reported Thursday.

Arcadia police received a complaint of a man driving recklessly in a green Mitsubishi Tuesday afternoon, according to TMZ. When officers located the vehicle, they saw King driving.

Arcadia police Lt. Roy Nakamura told City News Service, a Rodney King was pulled over around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday on Santa Anita Avenue near the Foothill (210) Freeway, cited for driving without a license and released at the scene.

Nakamura said he could not confirm it was the same King who was the beating victim ``because the individual was not taken into custody or photographed or any of that.''
