Man Kidnapped, Tied up and Robbed in Sherman Oaks

Detectives say $30,000 in cash was stolen from the man's Sherman Oaks home.

Authorities are searching for a third robbery suspect after a man was kidnapped, brought to his house, tied up and robbed.

The Los Angeles Police Department said they responded to a burglary call in the 15400 block of Vista Haven Road in Sherman Oaks around 12:20 p.m. Saturday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys Division, the victim was kidnapped at gunpoint after getting his hair cut at a barber shop.

"As he was leaving the barber shop, he was approached by three males, one of which pointed a gun at him and demanded that he get in his own vehicle, the black Mercedes, and they drove him up to residence nearby in Sherman Oaks."

One of the suspects stayed inside the car with the victim while the other two suspects went inside the man's home to rob it.

The victim had been zip tied in the back of his own car, police said.

"It looked like something out of a movie," witness Chasen Weiss told NBC4. "I just couldn't believe it."

Burglars stole a car and $30,000 in cash from the victim, Officer Lopez of the LAPD said. Authorities located the car in the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Kester Avenue in Sherman Oaks.

Lopez said two people were arrested at the location where the car was found in connection with the burglary, but noted authorities were still searching at least one other suspect.

The victim was not injured, Lopez said.
