A man was killed and a woman injured Sunday in small plane crash into a cellphone tower near Lake Matthews.
Firefighters responded to the downed aircraft in the 20300 block of Farley Avenue, east of Corona off Cajalco Road, at 12:14 p.m., said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The homemade plane crashed into a cell tower and much of the wreckage became entangled in the structure.
The man died at the scene while the woman was ejected from the plane and sustained moderate injuries, Hagemann said.
She was taken to a hospital, but an update on her condition was not immediately available.
