Man Killed by Stray Bullet in Canoga Park Was Father of Two

An innocent man who was killed by a stray bullet when he was caught in the crossfire of a car-to-car shooting in Canoga Park was identified by family and friends Wednesday as Eduardo Rebolledo, a 38-year-old father of two.

Rebolledo was leaving work at AOL Heating and Air about 6 p.m. Tuesday when a gunman racing down the 7200 block of Eton Avenue shot at a rival gang member in another car, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Jack Richter said.

Rebolledo was sitting in his pickup truck when the bullet fatally struck him.

A cluster of candles and flowers now marks the spot where an innocent man's life was taken.

"I feel sorry for the family that it happened to," said Ross Perry, Rebolledo's colleague. "It just shouldn't happen. It's heartbreaking."

Rebolledo leaves behind a wife, a 12-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.

Police on Wednesday went from business to business in search of witnesses and surveillance video.
