The family of a man put into a coma after being beat by someone wielding a baseball pleaded for the public's help to find the attacker.
Hand in hand and holding on to one another for support, family and friends of Christopher Cooper gathered at the Del Taco in Lancaster on Friday morning when they received an update from the hospital.
"He has to go into surgery," said Ansar Muhammad, of the Community Action League, a community organization that helps low income communities in the Antelope Valley act to fight for their civil rights. "So, before we even start, I would like to offer up a prayer."
It's not likely to be the last surgery for the 31-year-old Cooper.
Relatives say he suffered a brain hemorrhage last Friday afternoon when someone attacked him with a baseball bat.
They say he's in a coma fighting for his life.
"Everybody that played a part in what you did, we know who you are. You know who you are," said Tiffany Cooper, the victim's sister.
Detectives aren't releasing any information.
But Cooper's loved ones say they know who attacked him and why.
"Do the right thing, 'cause I'm not gonna rest. Nobody is," said David Cooper, the victim's father.
