A 52-year-old man is fighting for his life after he was allegedly doused in gasoline and set on fire in attack inside a gated community in Moreno Valley on Friday, police say.
Officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a report of an assault on the 14600 block of Muirfield Street at around 7 a.m. When they arrived, they found the victim who had suffered severe burns, police say. It is unknown whether he will survive.
Shane Hampton, a 35-year-old resident of Moreno Valley, was arrested and booked for attempted homicide. It is unclear whether Hampton and the victim knew each other or what events led to the alleged attack.
