A man was shot to death in a North Hollywood alley late Monday night, police said.
Officers received a report of a man down in the alley near Vineland Avenue south of Kittridge Street just before 11 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's unclear what led up to the killing. Police had no information on the shooter and said the incident did not appear to be gang-related.
The victim was identified only as a 25-year-old Latino man.
"The individual definitely does not appear to be a gang member and at this time it doesn't appear that there was a gang nexus," said Mike Kozak of the LAPD.
Neighbor Ramona Camacho said she heard shots bt when she looked she could not see what was happening because the alley is dark.
Mourners left flowers at the scene of the shooting Tuesday morning.
