Man Shot, Killed Outside Louisiana Fried Chicken Restaurant

The shooting occurred in front of a Louisiana Fried Chicken restaurant.

A man in his 40s died from an afternoon shooting in South Los Angeles on Saturday, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 4:45 p.m. in front of a Louisiana Fried Chicken restaurant near the intersection of Normandie Avenue and Manchester Boulevard, according to Sgt. Thomas Bojorquez of the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Station.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Bojorquez said.

The shooter, also a man in his 40s, fled the scene on foot, the sergeant said.

Police were investigating at the scene and were hopeful there were witnesses, since the shooting happened at a major intersection, Bojorquez said.
