Neighbors found a woman's body inside a Montebello home Wednesday evening and police are searching for a man they're calling a person of interest in the case, authorities said.
Emilio Martinez (pictured below) is wanted for questioning in connection with the death, said Lt. Holly Francisco with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.
Martinez lives at the home where the woman was found, Francisco said. The victim’s car is missing.
Neighbors discovered the body at about 6 p.m. in the 600 block of 20th Street. Authorities pronounced the woman dead on the scene.
Francisco could not confirm late Wednesday how the woman died, saying that determination would be up to the coroner. She did say the victim appeared to have suffered "trauma to her body."
