Man, Woman Shot in the Buttocks in Baldwin Park

Both taken to the USC Medical Center in a stable condition for surgery.

A man and a woman were both hit in the buttocks in two separate shootings in Baldwin Park early Saturday, police said.

The male was the first to be gunned down, and was shot once in the rear on the 3200 block of Athol Avenue at around 1:15 a.m., a Baldwin Park Police Department spokesman said.

The woman was hit once in the buttocks in the area of Los Angeles Street and Walnut Avenue at around 2:16 a.m., according to police.

Both were taken to the USC Medical Center in a stable condition for surgery.

Police are treating both shootings as attempted murders, and they are being treated as separate incidents.

The man was shot by a heavyset male who was wearing dark clothing. He was seen getting into a silver vehicle occupied by up to four other people, police said.

There were two men involved in the second shooting, with the first being described as heavy set. The second man was thin and wearing dark clothing. They fled the scene in a gray vehicle.
