Man, Woman Shot to Death After Altercation at Lancaster Party

Sheriff's officials believed there could be additional victims.

A man and a woman were shot to death after an altercation at a party in Lancaster early Saturday, sheriff's officials said.

Authorities responded to a call of a gunshot victim in the 43000 block of 6th Street East in Lancaster around 1:35 a.m., according to Lt. Derrick Alfred of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Two people in their late teens were found lying in the street suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to sheriff's officials. They died at the scene.

A white car was seen driving away from the scene, but stopped nearby, according to Alfred. The people inside were detained, but were being considered as victims Saturday morning. The car had at least one bullet hole in it.

Sheriff's officials believed there could be additional victims, and noted the shooting did not appear to be gang related.

The investigation of the shooting is ongoing.
