Man, Woman Wounded in Norwalk Shooting; Suspect Sought

A man and a woman were hospitalized after a brazen daytime a shooting in Norwalk Thursday, officials said.

The shooting was reported just before 12:30 p.m. in the 11800 block of Arlee Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Neighbors reported hearing three or four gunshots ring out just after noon. Investigators said the man and woman, who are between 17 and 25 years old, were found injured nearby.

A neighbor, who asked not to be identified, said that she didn't get a look at the gunman's face, but that she saw him before he fled.

"I heard a loud noise I thought was firecrackers, so I looked out the door and that’s when I seen the guy holding a gun shooting at this young girl and a guy,” she said.

Neighbors said the woman, covered in blood, was trying to flag down help soon after the shooting.

Another neighbor said the area was usually quiet.

Sheriff's deputies said a gray or silver two-door sedan was seen driving away.

Authorities had no suspect description. No arrests had been made.

The man was in intensive care and woman was is stable condition Thursday night.
