Man's Body Discovered in Valencia Home

How the man died was not released by the sheriff's department

Sheriff's detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the "suspicious" death of a man whose body was found Sunday in Valencia.

The man's body was discovered just before 4 p.m., in the 23600 block of Via Valer, Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said.

Deputies went to the home after receiving a call that a man was not breathing at that location.

The man was dead at the scene, Navarro-Suarez said.

Hi name was withheld pending notification of kin.

How the man died was not released by the sheriff's department.

There is growing worry that this could be the body of a missing 20-year-old college student who disappeared Friday.

A close family friend leading the search told NBC4 it is that young man's body, but detectives are not yet making that connection.

Anyone with information on this man's death was asked to call the sheriff's homicide bureau at 323-890-5500.

NBC4's Rick Montanez contributed to this report.
