Los Angeles Fire Department divers used sonar to find a man's body in MacArthur Park Lake Tuesday.
A report of drowning following a "male in water" at the lake in LA's Westlake neighborhood (map) first came in at 6:41 a.m.
Police were notified and began searching the water and surrounding area for the man. The urban park, which has a man-made lake and other facilities, is west of downtown.
A four-hour search included divers who used sonar technology, according to Shawn Lenske of the fire department.
A later update from Lenske said a man of unknown age was seen swimming in the water.
The male body was approximately 30 years old, Lenske said.
The cause of drowning and death was under investigation.
