Maple Block Meat Co. Summer Block Parties

Savory vittles, cornhole, and community good times are the themes at the Culver City bbq joint.

SO YOU DIG YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, and are super-duper proud of your street, and you even hang out with the people who live next door pretty often, once or twice a month. But you say that you guys still haven't gotten together to host a block party? The kind of bash where you take over the road, or at least a few front yards, and wheel out the meat smoker, the barbecue, the yummy sides, and some games to keep both the kids and grown-ups busy as the grillable goods get good and grilled? It can take some work to lead the block party charge, though, of course, it can be quite rewarding. If you're inspired, and you want to simmer in some block party vibes, the kind of vibes that just happen to be scented with barbecue and fun, make your way to Culver City's Maple Block Meat Co. on a specific Sunday afternoon, all to enjoy the eatery's...

SUMMER BLOCK PARTY SERIES: Think of these block parties as incorporating the larger neighborhood, that of Southern California, and think of you playing cornhole and sipping excellent craft brews among your newly met neighbors. There shall be BBQ, as the name of the restaurant straightforwardly suggests, the kind of quality meats that will be well-butchered, well-smoked, and well-grilled. When you're not noshing, or waiting to nosh, there are picnic tables to hang out at, the aforementioned cornhole, a bounce house, and beverages, oh yeah. The upcoming dates? The last Sunday in July, when The Bruery and Offshoot Brewing'll be pouring, Aug. 12, when Boomtown Brewing and El Segundo Brewing will be in the house, and Aug. 26, when Maple Block Meat Co. welcomes Mikkeller Brewing.

WILL YOU BE JAZZED... after an afternoon at the Culver City BBQ HQ, jazzed enough to host your own neighborhood block party? You just might find the inspo you need, but you'll definitely find plenty of excellent BBQ and brews.
