Boy Dies in Accidental Fall Out Window

A child is in critical condition after falling out an apartment window.

A 4-year-old boy died Monday of injuries suffered in an accidental fall from a third-story window in Del Rey, authorities said.
The boy was able to push out the screen on the window, and fell 40 feet onto the concrete below, authorities said.
The fall was reported at 6:12 p.m. at 13701 Marina Pointe Drive, said Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Niko Laurie died at a hospital about 2:45 a.m., said coroner's Chief Craig Harvey.
The death was being investigated as an accident, Harvey said.
