Honoring Fallen Soldiers on Memorial Day

LA's events honoring the men and women who died while in military service.

 Memorial Day Flower Drop
745 N. Gene Autry Trail, Palm Springs, CA
 A B-25 Mitchell aircraft will fly over the corwd, dropping more than 3,000 red and white carnations. The viewing public is invited to pick up a dropped flower and take it home as a personal reminder of the fallen. 10 a.m. at The Palm Springs Air Museum. Full Story

 World War II Submarine Memorial
800 Seal Beach Blvd, Seal Beach, CA 90740
Onoard the Naval Weapons Station in Seal Beach the names and fates of each submarine lost during World War II will be read out loud. Memorial red, white and blue carnations will be dropped into a reflecting pool to honor the fallen. Services begin at 11 a.m. Full Story

Memorial Day Ceremony - Huntington Beach
1 Main Street Huntington Beach, CA 92648
A 21-gun salute, flag-raising and playing of taps are scheduled for this annual ceremony, hosted by the American Legion, VFW and the Jewish War Veterans. 11 a.m. at the Pier Plaza in Huntington Beach.  Full Story

122nd Annual Memorial Day Program

Major General John T. Crowe, former Commanding General, 63rd Regional Support Command, is scheduled to speak . David James Elliott of  television's "JAG" is also scheduled to appear. 10:30 a.m. at the Los Angeles National Cemetery. Full Story

The parade, canceled in 2010, is back this year, starting at the corner of Sherman Way and Owensmouth at 11 a.m. followed by a festival at Quimby Park. Full Story

Walk for Warriors
