Students and teachers at Harvard-Westlake School planned to gather Monday morning to remember Justin Carr, a junior who collapsed and died during a swimming workout on Friday.

The 16-year-old, who was described as a standout student at the private Studio City high school, appears to have succumbed to a heart condition, officials said.

While the cause of Justin’s death is still under investigation, he appears to have had a condition called cardiomyopathy, which weakens the muscles of the heart.
