Injuries Reported After Blue Line Train Collides With Car in Long Beach

Train passengers reported injuries after the crash near Long Beach Boulevard and 14th Street

Passengers on a Blue Line train reported injuries Friday morning after the train collided with a car near a station in Long Beach.

Twelve people were on the train, six of whom reported injuries. Aerial video showed the driver of the black sedan with damage to its driver's side doors being treated at the scene.

Details regarding the severity of the injuries were not immediately available.

The crash occurred at about 7 a.m. near Long Beach Boulevard and 14th Street -- between the Anaheim Street and Pacific Coast Highway stations (map).

Metro reported major delays in the Long Beach rail loop as crew attempted to clear the tracks and assess damage. The car was blocking tracks, but crews removed the vehicle and normal service resumed Friday morning.
