Man Slashed in Face on Metro Bus

A witness said she saw a man with blood all over his face.

One person was taken to a hospital Wednesday morning after getting into an altercation on a Metro bus near the border of Gardena and Hawthorne, officials said.

The attack was reported about 6:15 a.m. on a Metro bus near Crenshaw Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue, according to the LA County Fire Department.

Two people got into an altercation while on board, and one slashed the other in the face with a knife or box cutter, LA Sheriff's Transit Lt. John Sullivan said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition, fire officials said.

The attacker fled the bus and is being sought by authorities, who believe he may have gotten onto another bus.

A person detained after the attack turned out not to be involved.
