Man Shot, Three Sought in Mid-Wilshire Home Invasion

Officers with guns drawn took up positions outside a Mid-Wilshire area residence Wednesday during a search that followed a home invasion in which one person was shot.

Two men and a woman are sought in connection with the home invasion and shooting. Police locked down the neighborhood around the1100 block of Citrus Avenue, but the suspects still managed to get away.

Police said the female suspect may have known the shooting victim, who lives in an apartment on the lower level of the house, and may have demanded money from him. He was described only as a 60- to 65-year-old man.

When the victim refused to give the woman money, she shot him in the face, investigators said. The victim then managed to run away, said Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Matt McNulty. He was in stable to condition and was expected to survive.

Detailed descriptions of the three suspects were not immediately available.

Police remained in the neighborhood for about five hours before calling off the search. No arrests had been made by Wednesday afternoon.
