A boy reported missing early Tuesday was found at a West Adams donut shop and reunited with his mother.
A caller told police the boy, who has Down syndrome, was found near Western Avenue and Exposition Boulevard early Tuesday. The child was brought to the LAPD's Southwest Station.
"Unfortunately, we're not able to obtain his name or address to find his parents," said LAPD Officer Casey Chubbuck.
Later Tuesday morning, the boy's mother arrived at the station. She told police the family was at her sister's house for New Year's Eve and stayed overnight.
At some point, the boy wandered from the house. The mother noticed he was missing when she awoke Tuesday.
"It all appears to be accidental," said Chubbuck. "He was happy. He was still quite sleepy from his walk last night."
