Search Volunteers Find Girl, 12, Who Disappeared From Hotel Room

Donyetta Butts was last seen stepping out of the family's hotel room

A 12-year-old girl reported missing after her disappearance from a hotel in the San Fernando Valley has been found by two people who volunteered in the search.

The girl was reported missing at 9:30 p.m. after she left her family's room at the Hometown Inn on Sepulveda Boulevard, just south of Plummer Street, and did not return. She was taking items to a trash bin in an outside hallway, family members told police.

Details regarding the case were not immediately available. The girl's mother said she was thankful for everyone who helped with the search.

The family had been staying at the hotel for about one week after they were forced out of their previous home, mother Michelle Mosby told NBC4. They moved from Indiana to California about one year ago.

The mother distributed fliers Wednesday night to get the word out.
