More California State University, Northridge Students Targeted for Up-Skirt Photos

Students have been being warned to be on their guard following the incident at the Arbor Grill last Thursday

California State University Northridge students have been targeted again by someone trying to take up-skirt photographs.

Students have been being warned to be on their guard following the incident at the Arbor Grill last Thursday, as it came just days after a similar event on June 23. A CSUN Police Department spokesman said investigators are not sure if they are connected, but said the men do share similar descriptions.

The latest occurrence happened while victims were sitting at a table at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. One of the group noticed a man laying on a bench pointing a cellphone toward them. The victim repositioned herself away from the suspect, but the man moved to different benches each time she did, while still pointing the camera at both victims.

The suspect is described as being in his mid-30s, up to 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds. He had a facial scar that curved down the right side of his face. A sketch has been released to help people recognize the man.

It comes after a June 23 incident in which a student was studying at Oviatt Library around 1 p.m. when she felt something against her ankle and looked beneath the desk to find a man kneeling with a cellphone pointed toward her.

Police said the man did the same thing a short time later.

The suspect in that case is described as being a man in his early 20s, between 5 foot 7 inches and 6 feet tall, and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds.
