More Than 80,000 Have Power Restored Following Storm Outages

More than 80,000 customers have had their power restored following outages caused by Friday’s storm.

Nearly 40,000 had their supplies restored by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power alone, with just 300 still left without electricity.

And Southern California Edison turned on supplies for 41,000 customers, with 3,000 still suffering from outages.

Supplies were affected due to the  huge storm, which was dumping as much as 2.7 inches of rain per hour.

Education establishments were also affected, with Sierra Madre Elementary School closing after electricity was cut, the Pasadena Unified School District said. Parents were notified by text message.
