A 12-year-old Moreno Valley girl, who was reported missing yesterday, returned home unharmed Sunday, according to a press release.
Mercedes Hernandez's parents and siblings told sheriff's deputies Saturday that Mercedes had not been seen since she left her family's house for a walk at 2 p.m., said Sgt. Dan Ponder of the Riverside County Sherriff's Department.
Just yesterday, deputies conducted an extensive search of the area surrounding the Hernandez's home. They even searched the homes of the Hernandez's many acquaintances, but she was nowhere to be found, Ponder said.
