The collsion occurred about 5:45 p.m. just east of the Vermont Avenue exit, Sauquillo said.
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital and the cause of the incident is under investigation, she said.
Firefighters and CHP officers waded through rush hour traffic to reach the victim. Aerial footage of the scene showed a person lying face down on the ground, but there was no official word on their condition.
