A motorist died in a plunge off San Gabriel Canyon (39) Road Sunday morning.
A witness at the Coldbrook Campground in the Angeles National Forest north of Azusa reported seeing a vehicle go off the road near Mile Marker 32 shortly after 2 a.m., according to CHP Officer Anthony Martin and information posted on the agency's web page.
"Initially, we thought there were more victims. So we conducted a search and located no other victims," said Los Angeles County Fire Dispatch Supervisor Andre Gougis.
The fatally injured motorist was a woman in her 40s whose name was being withheld, CHP Officer Jennifer Connolly said.
