Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch: Movie Star Pumpkins

Need a "VIP area with expedited entry"? This is your patch.

Few things in this world are more homespun, and hay-filled, and giggle-filled, and cinnamon-scented, and nostalgia-driven as a classic pumpkin patch.

Still, though: Sometimes the modern world can intersect with the search for a spectacular squash, and addressing that in a welcoming way is up to the good people behind the patch.

One patch that is known for handling this modern-nostalgic intersection well is Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch, a seasonal favorite that has been pumpkin-ing up the lives of Halloween-loving Angelenos since 1987.

It's opening in Culver City on Friday, Oct. 6, it's third year in the city, and, as has happened in the past, Mr. Bones will include a "VIP area with expedited entry," for celebrities hoping to purchase their annual family pumpkin.

In fact, Mr. Bones and movie stars have become as much a seasonal twosome as candy and corn, but as for non-movie stars? They love this sweet gourd-packed place, too, thanks to its plethora of kid-ready activities and the live entertainment.

And. All. Of. Those. Pumpkins. (Translation: There's a nice selection.)

Mr. Bones will keep open hours to both pumpkin-searching movie stars as well as those pumpkin lovers who love the movies from Oct. 6 through 30, 2017, though do note: It is closed on Halloween Day, a Tuesday, so stock your pumpkin pantry before the haunting holiday arrives.

Entry is free on opening day, Oct. 6, and Mondays through Thursdays are free, and Friday daytimes, too, but there is an admission fee on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays. Just look closely at dates and times before you go to know. Prices are here.

And kids'll score "pumpkin bucks," five bucks worth, with their paid Saturday and Sunday admissions.

One more adorable addendum? Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch is popping up, in miniature form, at Platform, which isn't too far from the main patch's 2017 location at 10100 Jefferson Boulevard.

A Boo-tique is open on select October dates beginning on Saturday, Oct. 7.
